"I brought my wife's Taurus X in to have the heating element fixed in the passenger seat (the driver one crapped out last season - but that is a quality gripe for a different department for Ford).  The part was in stock and repaired quickly.  A second problem with the car (a noise somewhere in the rear of the vehicle) wasn't pinpointed due to the tech not being able to replicate the noise on a test drive, (but another date will be scheduled to explore it further).  However, the impressive part of my visit - outstanding part, really - was Blake taking me out to the car and showing me that one of the techs might have accidentally scratched the interior door panel while fixing the seat, apologizing, and offering to make it right at MY convenience.  I most likely would have discovered the scratch on my own.  I am, self admittedly, a bit vain when it comes to my cars.  (Cars, by the way, I pruchased at Bob Sight.)  But it's my hard earned money that paid for those Fords, so I think some vanity/pride is allowed.  But, regardless of whether or not I would have linked it to your maintenance work, or dismissed it as one of my kid's carelessness, Blake pointed it out.  And, I can only assume he knew about it because the automotive tech pointed it out to him to begin with.  Your team in the Service Department could have:  1) said nothing and done nothing, 2) said nothing and try to half ass cover it up, or 3) admit to it and still offer a half assed solution to fixing it.  What they did was own up to it, and offer to fix it properly - to MY satisfaction.  Honesty is costing your dealership part of a new door panel.  (That is true.)  A cost that your team voluntarily ate when they pointed out the damage.  But...it is also that same honesty (and responsibility to actions) that will EARN my business next time around.  Furthermore, that same honesty also stands to reward the Bob Sight Service Department with referrals from my word-of-mouth.  (Honesty, it turns out, just isn't the right thing to give a customer, it is also a good business decision - that may make you money down the road.)  Go figure.  I can't tell you what a 180 the Service Department has done over the last year or two; I used to be one of your most disgruntled customers.  Being a customer with the Service Department here isn't about getting whay you want, "the customer is always right", or having you ass kissed.  No, it is simply about expecting/receiving honesty, quality work from all the department's employees, and having them treat my vehicles the way they would their own.  And, over the last two years, that is what I have received time and time again.  As long as you continue to have guys like Blake, Troy, and Chris working for your department, and as long as your techs continue to do quality work with quality values/standards, I will keep coming back.  Thanks."
